The
Blackpool University was established at the dawn of this
millenium as a private higher education institution of university
status by Sub Decree No.4 of 01.01.2000 under the statutes
of an Association at Belgium in the European Union. The
Association was established by Royal Decree No.7/CDLF/14.352/S
of 19.09.1999 under the order of the King of Belgium. In
agreement with the Association, Blackpool university is
to be governed by an Irish corporation that foresees the
growing need of establishing and bridging a transnational
education between the European Union and the Commonwealth.
To
foster her unique image as a transnational higher education
institution, the Blackpool University is recognised and accredited
both in the European Union and the Commonwealth. The Blackpool
University further possesses quality assurance validation
awarded by the Quality Assurance Commission UK. The University
is committed to the Charter for best practice and continuous
improvement in learning under the British Institute for Learning
and Development in the United Kingdom.
